Artificial Joint Replacement Surgery

The global elderly population is increasing, accompanied by joint swelling and pain, which affects the quality of life of the elderly. Further reducing their mobility and possibly affecting their physical functions. The artificial joint replacement is one of the important medical technologies of the 20th century, it can effectively improve patients' joint pain problems and help them restore their daily functions. Studies have shown that after minimally invasive surgical replacement of degenerative joint diseases, patients can quickly start walking and return to normal social activities.

The Orthopedics Department of Tainan Sin Lau Hospital has accumulated many years of rich experience in performing this surgery. We uses minimally invasive artificial joint reconstruction, which not only results in smaller wounds, less tissue damage, reduced pain, less bleeding, shorter recovery period, but also shortens the length of hospitalization and postoperative rehabilitation period. Significantly improve patients' quality of life.

Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

Minimally invasive spine surgery technology is a revolutionary breakthrough in the medical field. For many patients with spondylolisthesis and disc herniation, traditional surgery involves destroying too much bone to decompress the nerves, and then using nails and artificial bone cages to establish stability. This often increases the risk of bleeding and subsequent degeneration of adjacent spinal segments. In contrast, minimally invasive spine surgery is highly technical, with small surgical wounds, less blood loss, less pain, and faster recovery, which can shorten the length of hospital stay.

By magnifying the image through the endoscope, the nerves can be clearly identified to reduce the possibility of nerve damage. It also directly into the lesion to reduce the destruction of healthy tissue around the spine, and reduce the chance of subsequent chronic low back pain. This surgery requires professionally trained doctors and complete equipment to perform it safely.

Tainan Sin Lau Hospital's medical team has accumulated rich experience in minimally invasive spine surgery and minimally invasive cervical spine surgery. It uses advanced minimally invasive spinal endoscopic surgery, and emphasizes "precise" surgical methods to treat patients with intervertebral disc prolapse and herniation, Provides treatment for patients with symptoms such as spinal stenosis and nerve compression. With the high image quality and high resolution of endoscopes, safety is further improved. This surgery reduces unnecessary tissue destruction and results in smaller wounds, thus reducing wound pain, shortening the course of treatment, and speeding up recovery time. It not only shortens the hospitalization days, less pain, faster recovery, less blood loss, and low chance of degeneration, but also helps patients quickly return to normal life.

Temporomandibular Joint Disorders

Around 5 to 12% of population in the world suffers from temporomandibular joint disorders. The symptoms include a clicking or rolling sound near the ears when the mouth is opened. It is often accompanied by symptoms such as jaw soreness, difficulty chewing, inability to open the mouth, crooked mouth, shoulder and neck pain, and migraines.

The Oral Surgery Department of Tainan Sin Lau Hospital is a training institution of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society of the Republic of China, with more than 3,000 cases of treatment experience. Our hospital has also developed serum cortisol (8ASC) as a diagnostic biomarker to assist in the diagnosis of temporomandibular joint disorders. This breakthrough replaces the traditional use of MRI to assist in diagnosis, which requires the injection of contrast agent, is time-consuming, and wastes medical resources. The study results were published in the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation. We also obtained the SNQ certification mark "Solving limited mouth opening problems and articular disc ectopia - the innovative diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders".

In the future, our hospital will continue to develop towards digital dental and precision medicine. We are committed to improving medical methods and technologies to provide modern, high-quality, and efficient medical treatment for client.
